NoteThis National Wildlife Refuge is situated on the Potomac River and encompasses approximately 644 acres of mostly grassland and marsh habitat with small areas of hardwood forest and shrub land. Only managed deer hunts on this area. USFWS conducts three deer hunts in December, first of which is a youth Deer Hunting Workshop and hunt for ages 12-18 years. Shotgun only (buckshot); qualification required. Call VDGIF (540-899-4169) for details on Youth Hunt application and hunting workshop.
